4. Dulce de calabaza (Candied Pumpkin)

It’s traditional name is Chacualole or xacualole and is a dessert made mainly with pumpkin, flavored with orange peel, cinnamon, cloves and / or anise. The variety generally used is Castilla pumpkin. It is of pre-Hispanic origin, and is very typical as an offering to the dead on the Day of the Dead.
